Wednesday night was a big night for my 8 year old! Her biggest sister got her Hannah Montana tickets for her birthday! No, we did not pay an outragous amount of money for them. It just so happens that when I bought the cd, Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus, it had a card about the fan club, MileyWorld. You got a month free, so we signed up. Of course I forget to cancel before the 30 days were up, so we are in it for a year for thirty bucks! A few months later we got an email with a presale code and a presale date for Ft Worth. On that day, my daughter went online and bought four tickets, easy as pie. Being the "starving" college student that she is, she wanted to sell two of the tickets. The day of the public sale she put them on ebay for a 24 hour auction. She sold the two tickets for a bargain price of $350. Now I would not pay $350 to take my daughter to a concert, but considering what others have paid, that's pretty cheap I guess.
So, the plan was my 8 year old and I would go to the concert. I must admit I was pretty pumped! I love Hannah Montana! It's a cute show! Well, one day a few weeks before the show, my (ok, i'm sick of saying their ages, let's just be real and use names!) Ally and Kate and I were sitting having dinner. A Jonas Brothers song came on and Kate (15) said something about it. Ally replied, "They're going to be at Hannah Montana, you know." Kate was excited to hear that! Ally turned to me and asked if I could drop her and Kate at the concert. I thought that was so sweet. Since Kate WAS the baby and now Ally is, Kate can be a little resentful, but at the same time she probably is Ally's biggest protector. I was more than happy to drop them at the convention center.
After dropping the girls at the concert, I parked the car in a garage near a movie theatre. I could pass some time here! So I bought a ticket to Martian Child. Afte consulting with Laura, (21) I went to see Lions for Lambs. The movie began and so did my phone! Michelle (17) texting to see if I was OK, ("what are you going to do by yourself during the concert, mom!?") and Kate calling because she can't find her seat. Laura needs to know how long cookie dough can keep in the fridge, Ashley (19) did Ally wear the HM tshirt I bought her (no), Kate found her seats, the Jonas Brothers are singing, etc...I had no idea who Tom Cruise was! I left. Went to the bookstore instead. Wander around in there for a while. I love books! I would have sat in the car reading my current book, Empress, but I forgot to bring it. Moved the car closer to the arena. Went into Mi Cocina (I hate going places alone! Especially restaurants!). Ordered a Margarita and some quesadillas. Of course at this moment I got a text that Miley is singing her last song! Slurped the 'rita, stuffed half the quesadillas in my mouth and walked a 2 blocks to meet the girls. They were so cute walking down the street together! They had a blast! I'm glad they went together!
